The association comprises the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Holland and the Italian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
The three Chambers of Commerce support exchanges between BeNeLux and Italy, providing numerous consultancy services and forms of assistance to members, helping them promote their businesses and expand their network of contacts.
Modena-born chef Massimo Bottura is an artist, instigator and innovator; and with an eclectic career spanning twenty years which commenced in the kitchens of Emilia Romagna to finally reach the realms of international Molecular Gastronomy, what better ambassador of modern Italian cuisine, than chef Massimo Bottura who brings together tradition, innovation and the philosophy of recovering the most authentic foods, in a truly artistic manner.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
THE CHALLENGES
The client needed a language partner to help it make the meeting-interview between the famous Italian chef and journalists, food-bloggers and experts of the BeNeLux Agrifood sector accessible to a local and international audience; a meeting that was then followed by a cooking show.
The event was held as part of the True Italian Taste project, whose mission is to combat the spread of the phenomenon of Italian sounding (use of names, geographical references, images, colour combinations and brands that sound like Italy and its products of excellence, above all agri-foods, with the marketing of non-authentic products) and promote real Made-In-Italy products in the world.
In order to help H&R industry professionals, journalists and BeNeLux influencers understand the important link that ties the Italian products to their territory of origin, the interpreters faced a threefold challenge: that of getting across the enthusiasm of Chef Bottura in French and Dutch, with the very same expressiveness of his figurative language, while translating the numerous technicalities correctly, through an on-line platform.
THE SOLUTION
The dedicated project manager assigned by Arkadia assisted the customer throughout the preparation of the event, offering its complete assistance even with the technical tests. Given that the meeting capacity was restricted and open only to members of CCIE BeNeLux, journalists, food bloggers and experts of the agri-food industry, a registration procedure was also set up.
Two specialized interpreters were selected and provided the continuous seamless translation of the fast-paced, metaphorical and often technical speech.
THE RESULT
The webinar promoted by the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, addressed to experts of the gastronomic sector and foreign foodies, digitally connected Modena with BeNeLux: thanks to Arkadia’s simultaneous interpreting service, the invaluable content offered by the multiple award-winning chef from Emilia Romagna was made available to an international audience. The on-line event, whose mission was to make foreign consumers aware of the importance of consuming authentic Italian food, attracted a great deal interest, and hundreds of views.
